Padel2Day on Ibiza: create a free profile and sign up for Early Birds and tournaments in seconds. Discover how the app works before you arrive.
Anyone who asks us what to sort out first when coming to Ibiza to play padel gets the same answer from us more and more often: put Padel2Day on your phone and create a profile, ideally before you even board the plane. It takes a few minutes, and it is the easiest way to start playing on the island straight away.
Padel2Day is a free app for iPhone and Android that brings players and padel event organisers together. Clubs and organisers list their events, players see what is happening nearby and sign up with a few taps, on their own or with a partner. The app is used in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain among other countries, and on Ibiza you will find a growing number of events from clubs and organisers too.
At Ibiza Padel Academy we run all of our own events through Padel2Day. Our Early Birds, for 20 euros per person at Club de Campo and The Bubble Club and 18 euros per person at Punto d’Oro Siux, are all listed there. So are the Not So Early Birds at the weekend, our monthly Bob d’Oro tournament and the bigger days such as the Padel is Life Tournament on 21 November. Our events page shows them live, straight from the app, including how many spots are still free.
This is how it works. You download the app from the App Store or Google Play, create an account and fill in your profile, with a photo so your fellow players recognise you. Then you choose your favourite locations, for example the clubs near you on Ibiza. From that moment on you can see which events are coming up, on which day and at what time, what they cost and how many spots are left. Signing up takes a few taps, and you can add the event to your calendar right away.
The clever part is the level. After every match you play through Padel2Day, the app recalculates your level based on your results. Organisers use it to put players of a similar level together. That is why you do not need a fixed partner at our Early Birds: you come on your own, get placed at your level and play matches that stay exciting. The more you play, the better the matching gets.
That makes all the difference when you are on holiday or staying here for a few weeks. You do not know anyone yet, you are not sure which club is where and you have no regular group to play with. A Padel2Day profile solves all of that in one go. You see what is on across the island this week, join a group at your level and are on court the next morning. Plenty of friendships in our padel community started exactly like that, with someone signing up on their own for an Early Birds session.
Two practical tips. Create your profile before you arrive, so there is nothing left to wait for once you are on the island. And sign up in good time, because popular sessions can fill up quickly. If an event is full, put yourself on the reserve list, as places regularly open up. Prefer to find a game on your own terms?
